They were used as runners in 1963 and 1961t between Division Marshals and the Communications Cars. We would like to .use them again, provided they attend our pre- parade briefing, scheduled tentatively for Sunday, April 11th at 3 p.m. in the Selectmen's Office. Mr. Guiler, our Chief Marshal, will firm up a date for this briefing. There would be need of.eight scouts: one to each division of the parade; one each for the Chief Marshal and Chief of Staff; and one at the Reviewing Stand Dr. Hunt was asked to go ahead with his invitations to the Antique Auto Clubs for their participation in the afternoon parade. He estimated fifteen cars would be on hand. He mentioned that the weather could keep many of them at .home; also, not all owners have the 19th of April off. It was suggested these cars travel double up the Avenue in the parade, to prevent a long -line .of autos. Dr Hunt mentioned that we could, for sone special celebration, hire antique cars, and then be selective This might insure the cream of the crop. Mr-.-Roone-y-is-Interested-in- rejuvenating- the-Lexington-School Color Guard, which originally consisted of thirty to forty boys from the then existing (6) schools. Lexington's antique fire engine (dating 'back to 1911 - the oldest one around, we're told°) would also lead the fourth division. The Dedham Drum & Bugle Corps have requested not to be in the fifth division, and we will try to honor this request. Mr William Bongiorne has tentatively agreed to take the movies on April 19th. We will work on the finishing touches of the Sunrise Parade, its roster, and the Green ceremonies next week. Respectfully submitted, Marilyn Hall Recording Secretary P.S. Mr Jason Karel, Chairman of Concord's Public Ceremonies Committee, called on March 21st to say that the Concord Minute Men received their invitation to participate in our parade. They are somewhat irked, however, because April 19th their invitation requested that they leave their fifes and drums in Concord. Mr K&rel was told that we would discuss this at our next meeting, and we would let them know of our decision. R. B. Barnes 168 r 11
