CORRESPONDENCE A letter from the Hayden Recreation Centre,

sixty-four twirlers, drummers, and fifers in the afternoon
parade.
The Militiamen Drum and Bugle Corps of the Anthony Hunt
Hamilton Post in Bedford feel they need $100.00 this year,
to participate in the afternoon parade. Last year they
received $65.00. This matter is pending.
Boston University accepts our invitation to participate in
the afternoon parade. They will send their R. 0. T. C. Band

The Rainbow Rangerettes from Woburn have asked to participate
in the afternoon parade. They are a thirty-one girl unit.
This matter is pending.
The Rojee Decorating Service will again be hired by this
committee to decorate the three Town buildings, the two
libraries, and the Reviewing Stand for April 19th
The committee went over the entire check list. Mrs Litchfield
was asked to invite Rev. Clark from Hancock Congregational
Church to give the invocation at the Green ceremonies. And
Father Christin of the new Greek Orthodox Church will be asked
to give the benediction.
LEXINGTON DAY - WORLD'S FAIR This committee met with
representatives of the various service organizations, such as
the Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees, Minute Men, Elks, Rotary,
Premiere Performance Company, and so forth, on February 9th,
to consider having a Lexington Day at the New York World's
Fair. The general impression seemed to be that it would be
worthwhile to have such a day.

Therefore, Mr Barnes made the following motion, in three parts,
which was seconded and unanimously approved by this committee
1. .That the Board of Selectmen approve an
official program of this Town to be
presented on Lexington Day at the
World's Fair.
2. That the Board of Selectmen appoint a
sub-committee comprised of representatives
from the Town's active organizations, and
this sub-committee to report to the Town
Celebrations Committee, since said sub-
committee would be responsible for all
details of a Lexington Day.
3. That this committee request $1500.00 toward
the financing of such a days with matching
funds to hopefully be raised by the citizens
and organizations of Lexington.
Respectfully submitted,
Marilyn Hall
