February 4, 1965
PRESENT Chairman Barnes, Mrs. Litchfield, Mrs Severance,
Mr. Sperduto, and Mrs. Hall
VISITORS Elks - Edwin Blomquist and Leonard Hopkins
Lions - George Gabriel
Jaycees - Allan Mead
Chamber of Commerce - Joseph Rooney
Mr. Barnes welcomed our visitors, and thanked them for taking the
time to come to this meeting. He announced that the Rotary will
be entering a float, and they will be having a Pancake Breakfast
again this year right after the Sunrise parade, probably in the
Hancock Church. The Rotarians will not be running the Ball this
yea r, and would, in fact, like to pass this function on to the
Lexington Minute Men for their sponsorship.
The Jaycees will enter a float, will have their usual booth in
the Douglas Funeral Home driveway, and will hold the House-
Decorating contest. They would like the Miss Lexington
contestants to ride in open convertibles close to their float,
since the Miss Lexington Pageant will take place the following
weekend. This would involve about five convertibles.
The Lions will again award the White Tri-Con Hat to Lexington's
Outstanding Citizen for this year. They will also sponsor the
Road Race, starting at 10:45 a.m, on the 19th of April. They
will be selling tri-con hats to the public, and they will enter
a float. The White Tri-cma Hat Committee this year consists of
William Reevis, Joseph Rooney, and Kenneth Blodgett.
The Elks will enter a float and a marching unit in the afternoon
parade. They asked if we had any suggestions for any other
function they could undertake, and Chairman Barnes suggested
their taking upon themselves the crowd control on the Green,
on Sunday afternoon when Linn Village Drum Band performs They
seemed very agreeable.
The Chamber of Commerce representative was asked to find out if
the Chamber again plans to handle the Float Judging and Trophies
CORRESPONDENCE Mrs. Litchfield received letters from the

Mr. William Fitzgerald, Fire Commissioner, and Chief Rycroft of
our Police Department will be asked to attend.

at twelve noon, and the menu will consist of Boneless Fried
Chicken and fikinis.
Mrs. Litchfield will be inviting Governor Volpe and those of
the standard Guest List, now that luncheon arrangements have
been set.
Mrs. Moyle will be available for the reception following the
afternoon parade at the Belfry Club.
Mrs. Hall will confirm luncheon plans with the Battle Green
Inn, and also ask that the room closest to the diningroom
be reserved by the Town Celebrations Committee.
