TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
January 28, 1965
PRESENT Chairman Barnes, Mrs. Litchfield, Mrs . Severance,
Mr Healy, Mr. Gaughan, Mr. DiGiammarino, and Mrs. Hall
CORRESPONDENCE We have had written acceptances from the following
bands to participate in our April 19th afternoon parade
Maynard High School
Fitchburg High School
Reading High School
A request was received from the Lexington Minute Men for $300.00
for the luncheon before the parade, and a solation after the
parade, served to their guests, numbering around four hundred.
It was felt that this was a reasonable request, considering the
number of people to be served. Mrs. Litchfield will write the
Minute Men, and report that we are taking this matter under
advisement, and that they will be notified of our decision in
the near future.
GENERAL It wa s noted for future reference that Mr. Healy
purchases our Memorial Day flags from the Veterans Graves
Registration Fund.
APRIL 19th The committee went over the April 19th check list.
Mr. Barnes would like the luncheon location decided upon by
our next meeting.
WORLD'S FAIR - LEXINGTON DAY Mr. Barnes suggested we have a
meeting with the various town representatives to decide whether
or not to recommend to the Selectmen that we sponsor a
Lexington Day at the New York World's Fair. This meeting will
be held in the Town Office Building on Tuesday evening,
F•hruary 9th. Ideas-of-programing-and-financing-this
would be discussed.
We will invite, by letter, the following groups to send a
representative to this meeting
