TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
December 3, 1961t
PRESENT Chairman Barnes, Mrs. Litchfield, Mrs Severance,
Mr. Sperduto., Mr. Healy, Mrs Hall
VISITORS Mr. Weinstein, Lexington Civil Rights Committee and the
Rev. Lindsey from the Methodist Church came to discuss Lexington
Civil Rights Committee ideas for April 19th, 1965. Their
thought would be to have a large tractor trailer parked near the
Green on April 19th onto which townspeople would load cartons of food
for the North Carolina or Mississippi areas. These gentlemen
sought our support so far as publicity for this project being
included in our own write-ups.
Another visitor of the evening was the Chairman of our Board of
Selectmen, Mr Lincoln P. Cole, who told us the Board of
Selectmen thought our November 11th celebration in Lexington
was the best yet. This committee was pleased with his comments.
