TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
November 5, 1964
PRESENT' Chairman Barnes, Mrs Litchfield, Mr. Healy, Mr. Sperduto,
Mrs. Hall
NOVEMBER 11th:
General O'Neill, his wife, and an aide, Capt. Frank A. Urbanic, Jr.
have accepted our invitation to march and participate in the Green
ceremonies, in writing.
Rev. Handley and Rev. Lund have also accepted our invitations
Both will march and participate at the Green.
Mr. DiGiammarino will have a public address system on the Green
for the ceremonies.
Mrs. Hall will remind Mrs. Morey to have the Buckman Tavern open
by 9.30 a.m. on November 11th for Mrs. O'Neill, Mrs Cole and
the committee wives. There will await the parade there.
Mrs. Hall will make arrangements to have coffee and rolls served
in the Heritage Room of the Battle Green Inn for General O'Neill,
Mrs O'Neill, his aide, and any selectmen and committee members,
and the clergy This gathering will, we hope, make the General
feel welcomed in Lexington, since this will be his first
appearance in our town in any official function.
Our next meeting will be en November 12th. The following meeting
will not be held until December 3rd. At this latter meeting,
we will lay out the January and February meetings, and also have
an April 19th theme ready for future float_participants, etc._ —
Mrs. Balaqua, from Anthony's restaurant, has suggested we NOT
serve stew to the Fort Devens men on April 19th.
