Chairman Barnes, Mrs. Litchfield, Mrs. Severance, Mr. Healy, Mr. Gaughan, Mrs. Hall GENERAL BUSINESS The script of "They Nobly Dar'd" will be presented to the Cary Memorial Library by the Town Celebrations Committee. This committee approved for payment two bills One is a $50.00 charge from Hanley's Sound Equipment Company for the use of its public address system on October 24th. The other charge is from the World Affairs Council for rental of a movie "Power Among Men" used by Muzzey Junior High School. This committee received its budget forms for 1965. NOVEMRFR 11th. Mrs. Litchfield wrote to Mrs. O'Neill, through the General's office, informing her she could await the parade on November 11th inside the Buckman Tavern. From there, she can walk across to the Green for the ceremonies of the day. Mr. Healy brought in a diagram of the arrangement of personnel on the Green for November 11th. The parade roster was drawn up. Mrs. Litchfield will invite the Selectmen to march in this parade and partake of the Green ceremonies. Mr Cole, Chairman, will be asked to read the Governor's Proclamation at the Green. Mrs:L-itchfieid-will call Mr. Stone, the Minute Men bugler, and ask that he play for the Green ceremonies on November 11th. Mrs. Litchfield will invite Rev. Handley to give the invocation and Rev. Howard or Rev: Lund to give the benediction. She will call Mr Barnes on October 30th to inform him of their acceptances or regrets. Mr. Healy will ask one of the color guard members to procure a flag from Mr. Mazzerrall. Mrs. Hall reported there would be three Boy Scout troops marching, with a possibility of two more The Girl Scouts and Campfire Girls will send color guards to march. _ i 136 1 OCTOBER 24th r It is suggested that the awarding of prizes for essay contest winners and poster contest winners be done in a High School assembly program another year. APRIL 19th It is suggested this committee decide upon a theme for April 19th, 1965 feastivities for the benefit of float participants, etc. Mrs. Severance suggested combining the permanent raising of the flag on the Green on April 19th after the morning parade, and use this permanent raising as a possible basis for a theme.
