Mr. Sperduto announced that he had invited Mr Maxner to attend one of our meetings to discuss the storing of the Spirit of '76 costumes, so that he, as would we, be aware of this storing place It is felt the costumes should be marked as property of TCC and stored in a Town building. Mr. Maxner has been reimbursed the $5.00 for his wig payment. He was sent a check the first of the summer. General Terhune has received the pewter mugs, properly inscribed, given him at the June luncheon. There was not enough time for the inscriptions prior to the luncheon. Mrs. Litchfield has written principal Johnson at the Harrington School about the tree-planting there on October 23rd for United Nations Day. The actual holiday is October 24th, a Saturday, (not a school day). Mr. Mead, President of the Jaycees, has okayed the purchase of said tree out of the Jaycees treasury. Mr. Lawrence Stone will be the bugler for the United Nations Day ceremony on the Green on Saturday morning, October 24th at 9:00. Father Murphy has been written to officiate for the clergy at this ceremony. We await his answer; letters have also gone out to the renewing groups for their participation (probably with color guards) - Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Minute Men, and the American Legion. We await their answers. Mr Healy will contact the Park Department concerning the selection of the tree to be planted at the Harrington School. NOVEMBER 11th - VETERANS DAY Mrs Litchfield has written to General O'Neill asking that he be our speaker at ceremonies on the Green. 1 128 Mrs. Litchfield has been authorized to purchase a thousand or so letterheads of this committee, as her present supply is low Mr. Sperduto spoke with Dr. Howard Smith and Mr. Charles Parks about the missing cut used for the town's 250th celebration last year. Neither gentleman seems to knew its whereabouts. Mr. Sperduto will call the Lexington Press again to further pursue the search. Respectfully submitted, Marilyn Hall, Recording Secretary e
