TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
June 4, 1964
PRESENT. Chairman Barnes, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs. Beardsley,
Mr. Healy, Mrs Hall
SUGGESTIONS FROM MEMORIAL DAY
Be sure Cary Hall is open before the parade arrives. Have traffic
stopped during short serviceatCary Hall and the Buckman Tavern.
Do not have the Spirit of '76 march in every parade, as it us most
difficult to march in between it and band rhythm.
Mr. Sperduto is looking into the wig situation concerning Mr. Maxner,
finding out whether or not we have paid one bill twice.
Mr. Healy received a thank you letter from the Sons of Union
Veterans and Auxilliary for arranging to have the lovely hymn
played by our High School Band at Munroe Cemetery.
Mrs. Litchfield will send thank you notes from this committee to
the following people for their generous participation on
Memorial Days General McGonagle
Rev. Handley
Father Perry
Mr. McKey
Father McLoud
She will also write our American Legion Commander thanking him and
his group for acting as hosts at the collation following the parade.
Mrs. Litchfield reported this committee has spent $3,715.63 so far
this year, and that we are in good financial condition.
We approved the minutes of the meetings from May 7th until May 28th.
We duly re—appointed Mr. Barnes and Mr. Gaughan as Chairman and
Vice Chairman respectively of this committee for another term.
NOVEMBER 11, 1964
Mrs. Litchfield will write to Major Kent at Hanscom Field and to
Col Passales of the National Guard inviting their marching
units to participate on November 11th. We want this invitation to
be in writing, and we want an answer in writing.

Mr. Cole will speak with Gen. Terhune concerning our finding a
suitable speaker for this holiday Gen. O'Neill may be considered.
Mr. Cole reminded us that Gen. Terhune will be leaving in June, and
this committee wants to honor him in some way. Our last meeting
will be a luncheon meeting with invited guests. Mrs Litchfield,
Mrs. Beardsley and Mrs. Hall will undertake to arrange this.
This meeting was adjourned at 10 15 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Marilyn Hall, Recording Secretary
