TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
May l4, 1964
PRESENT• Chairman Barnes, Mrs. Beardsley, Mr. Rudd, Mr Sperduto,
Mr. Healy, Mrs. Hall
Mr. Barnes introduced Mrs. Hall as Mrs. Bayle's replacement on
this committee, and thanked Mrs. Bayle for her faithful services.
Mrs. Bayle, in turn, expressed to the committee members present
her appreciation and enjoyment in working with them.
MEMORIAL DAY
The Linn Village Drum Band has accepted our invitation to
participate in the Memorial Day parade. Since this invitation,
however, we find we do not need this group. Therefore, Mr. Barnes
will call the band's leader in an effort to gracefully release
them.
Mr. Healy reported he had had acceptances from Father Perry and
Father McLoud to give the invocations at Westview Cemetery and
the Battle Green respectively. Rabbi Rosenblum regretfully
replied he would be unable to participate in the ceremonies.
Rev. Bartlett has been invited to participate, and hopefully
he will accept.
Mr. Healy will mail copies of the parade roster to all participating
units, notifying these units of arrival time and any other
necessary details.
Mrs. Beardsley will write up and send in to the Minuteman office
the Memorial Day activities of Lexington planned by the Town
Celebrations Committee.
U N. DAY'
Mr. Barnes announced there will be an open discussion about plans
for United Nations Day next Thursday evening, May 21st in the
Selectmen's office. The public is cordially invited.
Respectfully submitted,
Marilyn Hall
Recording Secretary
