Howard, Mr. Edward Sullivan, Mrs. Arthur Pennell, Mr. Anthony Modoono Mr. Howard informed the committee that the only area he was now concerned with is communications. He will have a preliminary meeting at 2 o'clock with the communications people on Sunday, April 12th before the meeting at 3:00. He requested that all signs be turned over to him before Saturday. Leo Gaughan will take care of the Home for the Aged signs and Mr. Howard will be responsible for the rest. Mr. Gaughan will also get the arm bands to Ray Lewis or Jim'Broderick. FLOATS Since only two float participants appeared, Mr. Rudd will send a letter of detailed instructions to all float participants. Mr. Sullivan supplied pictures of his float publicizing his. movie !'You, the Jury" which is being shown to all, interested groups. It was explained to Mr. Sullivan that we had a sufficient number of floats in the parade this year. Also, it was a problem for them to get their float to Lexington by 11.15 A.M., since the Arlington parade, in which they were also participating, would not be over until noon. They did not know wherethey would be in the Arlington parade. It was suggested that perhaps they could come another year. Mrs. Litchfield suggested to the committee that perhaps we could have restrictions on the size of commercial and political signs on the floats next year. COMMITTEEtEPORT The committee was informed that there was a good chance that General Schriver, his wife and aide would attend the parade. We will be informed by Hanscom. Since Major Kent will be out of town, we will invite Col. Nottingham of the E. S. D. of Hanscom. Since the new President of the Historical Society, Ruth Morey, will be out of town, we will invite Donald Noyes and his wife to attend the luncheon. 1 L__ 104 Mrs. Litchfield has written to Linn Village. She will call the National Guard tomorrow, since we have not heard from them. She will also check with Hazel LaPorte on the Girl Scout float. The signs are in process by David Packard. Mr. Rudd will try to have a cruiser available to transport the Chief Marshal and Lincoln Cole. Lady Lexington should be informed that her car is free to park with the other guest cars. Arrangements will be made for this. Mr. Sperduto reported that Anthony's is all set. Mrs. Litchfield will write to Ft. Devens informing them to be there at 12 noon and enclosing a map. We have been informed that the 6th,Battalion will not participate. Mrs. Litchfield will send a card to the participating Veteran's groups about their next meeting. Mrs. Beardsley will put an article in the paper on Memorial Day the week after the parade of the 20th. Mr. Gaughan reported that Mitre will not supply a camera man. He will try Lt. Brown. He also reported that the loud speaker system has been contractedat a cost of $135.00. On Monday, only the P. A. system will be available from 7 A. M. until after the parade. Mr. Gaughan will also check on the umbrella's and blankets. Mr. Gaughan will represent the committee at the Concord parade on Sunday. Mrs. Litchfield will write and inform Concord. The Holy Name Band, of Roxbury, is coming to the parade. Mr. Broderick will inform Mr. Howard of this. Mr. Gaughan will call the Lions Club. If they want the name of the Triā€”con Hat recipient on the sign, they will have to let us know. Mr. Gaughan will also check on whether the Boy Scouts have the Fiske Hill flag.
