PRESENT Chairman Barnes, Mrs. Litchfield, Mr. Rudd, Mr. Gaughan,
Mrs. Bayle, Mrs. Beardsley and Mr. Fenske (later)
VISITORS Mrs. LaPorte, Girl Scouts; Mr. Munroe, Boy Scouts;
Representatives from Promenaders and Historical Guides
APRIL 19th:
Mr. Barnes briefed the visitors from the youth groups on the plans for
the two-day April 19th celebration, gave them the parade theme, and
asked for suggestions from their groups.
The Boy Scouts will take part in the morning parade, and the Fiske Hill
celebration with Concord. They will add some drummers to add to the
morning parade.
The Historic Guides agree to do tours Sunday afternoon and Monday. They
will rent uniforms as last year, and give out the maps as last year, which
we will supply.
The Girl Scouts' participation will be the same as in other years.
Mrs. LaPorte was asked to request that there be no traffic cutting in
on their units this year as last year. The question of a float for the
Girl Scouts is still to be decided.
The Promenanders would like to have their Miss Lexington float lead the
parade again, although this eliminates them from the float competition.
If Hayden is not having a dance this year, they would like to have one
that would be open to the young people of the town.
Mrs. Litchfield will call the youth groups, including Hayden, to check
on_their_plans.- - — -
The minutes of January 9th and 16th were approved.
