TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE

PRESENT Chairman Barnes, Mrs. Litchfield, Mr. Sperduto, Mr. Fenske,
Mr. Gaughan, Mr. DiGianmarino and Mr. Rudd
CORRESPONDENCE.
It was reported that a total of $4668.811 was spent last year. Doris Pullen
called to borrow a tape of "They Nobly Dared."
APRIL 19th.
Invitations
It was voted to have Mrs. Litchfield invite the following bands
Norwich ROTC Band, offering them $200.00 plus their noonday meal;
Gloucester ROTC, Maynard, Woburn, Reading, Athol, Fitchburg and
Lexington High School Bands. She will also issue invitations to the
Lexington Women's Police Association, the Civil Air Patrol, and the
Medfield Drill Team. It was them voted that at the proper time,
invitations for luncheon, the parade, and reception after, be sent to
the following Governor Peabody, Senators Saltonstall and Kennedy,
Congressman Morse, and State Senator Long; to the Commanding Officer
of the First Naval District, Fort Devens, Coast Guard, Watertown Arsenal;
Major General Glasser, Major Kent, Col. Willcox and Major General Terhune
of Hanscom Field; General McGonagle of Lexington; the chairman of the
Concord Board of Selectmen; Mr. Jason Korell, Chairman of the Concord
Committee of Public Ceremonies and Celebrations, and Dr. Francis MacDonald,
ex-chairman.
There was a discussion of the Public Address System. Mr. Gaughan felt the
Execuphone people who have done it in the past were really not interested.
Mr. Sperduto thought Mr. Yewell had some equipment which perhaps could be
used.
At the next meeting, it was voted to have the following former marshalls
attend to enable them to make helpful suggestions for this year's parade
James Broderick; Joseph Rooney; Lincoln Cole; Raymond Lewis; Neil Cronin
and William Bongiorno. Mrs. Litchfield will invite them by phone.
