HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-05-23-TCC-min.pdf 55 TOWN CELEBRATIONS COT.MITTEE fMay 23, 1963 Present at the twenty-sixth meeting of the 1962-63 Town Celebrations Committee were Mrs Fox, Mrs Litchfield, Mr Gilman and Mr Barnes. Mr Howard joined the meeting late Absent were Mrs Bayle and Messrs Gaughan, DiGiammarino and Rudd Mrs Wilson for the L.W.V. was a guest Since the Committee did not have a quorum, business was confined to general discussion. On the matter of UNICEF, Mrs Wilson felt that UN DAY if it was handled in Lexington from a central source, it would be more efficient She felt that all were in favor of helping children and the project would have universal appeal We would have League support. and it would be announced in their bulletin Mrs Wilson reported that Mrs Sydney Cooper will be coordinator with the League on the Essay Contest, and that a tentative title has already been picked with Miss McIntyre 's help Mrs Litchfield read a letter of thanks from CORRESPOND- the USS Lexington for the ashtray we sent ENCE Mr Gilman felt that the receiving stand should APRIL 19 be used during the morning parade It would be an op- portunity to invite people to use it who have been help- ful to the committee Mrs Fox received the drummer boy costume back SPIRIT OF '76 from Mrs Shaw and has put it in our file Mrs Fox nas our arums, ana would like someone to take them She will send a card to Doug Maxner and ask for the parts of the costumes that belong to the town so they may be stored in our file Mrs Litchfield would like to know what to do with her supply of anniversary plates and ashtrays The committee discussedthe problem of this APRIL 19, 1964 falling on Sunday, and the feeling of those present was that we would probably end up with a Monday cele- bration 56 The final meeting of this fiscal year will be held June 20 at Mrs Fox' s, and will be a potluck supper She will take care of the arrangements Respectfully submitted, Patricia N Fox, Recording Secretary, pro tem
