They understand that their float cannot be in competition since Lady Lexington' s float has the place of honor in the parade They requested a sign for Lady Lexington's car to identify it as her transportation, and a parking place reserved for it near the reviewing stand It was agreed to arrange with the police to have this car identified, andprkd with Lhuse o-f`th-e other guests at the Green There was some question whether it was worthwhile for Lady Lexington and the president of the Prom-Manaders to go to the High School after the parade to be hosts to out-of-town school participants It wa suggested that they could leave the reviewing stand before the fifth division arrives there, and thus be at the high school in time to receive guests The opinion of the committee seemed to be that they could eliminate this duty if they wished Mrs Fox asked Mr Falcione if he enjoyed attend- ing the lunch for guests of honor of the town, and he felt it was an honor 2 Mr Howard told them that the arrangements for the use of Hayden for their dance would be made for ---s them He pointed out that the dance was their responsi- bility, that the expenses were their problem, and that any profits would be theirs too Mr Howard also pointed out that this dance will be an official part of the celebration, and the Prom- Manaders can rely on the established publicity set-up to help them However, any promotion they do themselves is fine. Sue Fulton is the new publicity chairman for the Prom-Manaders Another point made was that this dance would be public, and therefore open to any resident of Lexington GIRL Mrs Woodward asked some questions about the SCOUTS early morning parade, and was assured she would get parade roster and diagrams for the assembly on the Green It was agreed that the girls could sing during the parade if they wished There is a red cross ambu- lance at the end of the parade There are 23 towns included in the Bay Path Colonial Girl Council, and Mrs Alfred Gorrel, Jr (Barbara) of Lexington is president The office is now in Newton Mrs Woodward as asked to provide a girl scout and a brownie for the promise given on the Green: It was suggested that Mrs Gorrel act as the sponsor Mrs Smallman's girls are planning to sell Betsy Ross flags on April 19, and the details of this project were discussed at length Lexington Historical Guides Association: While Mrs Woodward and Mrs Smallman were still present, John Rutherford agreed that the Association would be interested in some girl scouts to act as guides April 19 and 21 He suggested that they read William Diamond ' s Drum as everything they need to know is in this book The questionnaire given prospective Guides can be ob- tained from Miss Murray John expects to have new guides from the junior high schools The Lexington Guides expect to be on the Green all during the three-day celebration Publicity for the Historical Guides was turned in to Mr Howard 3 There followed a discussion on the cost of the uniforms for the Guides Since the boots cost extra, and as much as the rest of the costume, John will check on the possibility of using: black leggings and black shoes instead.
