f Mr Gaughan reported that he had been unable to secure
a speaker yet
Mrs Fox said that we have overwhelming evidence
of apathy on the part of most of the town towards this
Thanksgiving Service, and that it would comply with the
Rules of Order, if a member of the committee, who voted
for the Service last spring, was willing to bring the
matter to a vote again
Mr Poplawski moved that this be done
Discussion followed, including the reading of
the June 7, 1962 minutes by Mr Howard
The motion was made and seconded that : the Town
Celebrations Committee requests that the Board of Select-
men relieve it of the responsibility for sponsoring the
Community Thanksgiving Celebration because of the gen-
eral lack of interest and participation by the community
and clergy
The motion carried , and Mr Howard will attend
the Se] ectmen' s meeting on Monday to present our case.
The remainder of the meetiig was devoted to the
report of the 250th Anniversary Committee
