TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
1 May 31, 1962
The Committee met at the Town Offices at 8:00
p.m. Present were : Mrs. Litchfield, Messrs. Cobb,
Gilman and Poplawski.
Next Meeting: will be held promptly at 7:45 p.m. ,
June 7, with Rev Harold Handley and Rev Floyd. Taylor
to discuss the Thanksgiving service and hopefully, we
will make our recommendation firm that evening for the
Board of Selectmen.
Mr Cobb has purchased a 4-drawer filing cabi- FINANCES
net , with a lock, for $54. from Mr Foster Mr.
Staples has given us a place in the basement of the
Town Office Building.

Thank You Letters : Letter from the Harvard Graduate
School of Public Administration for our cordiality to
the visitors from India, Pakistan, Israel, Sudan,
Ghana and Nigeria.
Letter from Col. & Mrs. Robert Bruce Braid,
Commandant, Watertown Arsenal.
Prom-Manaders : A report via Mr Cobb for Mr. Howard

the matter of the Lady Lexington pictures, as pre-
viously recorded in our minutes. has been settled.
Also, this committee will have no responsibility for
publicity other than for Lady Lexington, but not the
Prom-Manaders Ball.
250th Subcommittee: Mrs Nussdorfer, Mrs LaPorte,
and Messrs Cronin, Hutchins and Parks were present
The Pageant, given Saturday afternoon and even-
ing, will be written and directed by the Premier Per-
formers Company at the High School or Town Hall.
The group met with some of the service clubs
(Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, and Chamber of Commerce) all
of whom are formulating plans for some sort of partici-
cation.

The Lexington Historical Society will open all r ,
its historic houses free to the public Sunday after-
noon Sunday evening, Ed Worthen, Jr , will give an
historic talk
Cary Hall has been reserved by the committee
for the weekend
Bills will be sent to this committee ani funneled
through after the 250th has OK'd them
Band suggestions are being looked into for a
concert The band will probably be arranged for
through our congressman in coordination with the TCC.
Suggestions
Strike a medal, similar to the medal struck at the
200th anniversary in 1913
Publication of a volume similar to that published
by the Odd Volumes Club on the occasion of the
celebration of the 100th anniversary of Concord
and Lexington
Some permanent memorial
Mark all the old houses.
Open houses? Some discussion followed on the
risks involved in this sort of open house, other
than that already planned
