about last year's Patriots' Day. He said there was no
trouble due to the African Delegates being here, but
the Police Department was "pressed" . He said that the
marshalls should check who shouldbe in their division
and let the Police know. Last year a strange car joined
the parade, and although causedno trouble, the Police
were apprehensive. Of particular importance to the
Police is the need for more rope to control the crowd.
He estimated that a half-mile of rope is needed. Mr.
Poplawski asked if a reserved area could be arranged
for older people. Chief Rycroft thought this would
cause more problems than solutions. Police Department
