The Committee met at the Town Offices at 8 :00
p m Present were : Mrs. Fox, Mrs Litchfield, and
Messrs Cobb, Gilman and Howard.
A lengthy discussion on lack of attendance at THANKS-
this service produced several suggestions for future GIVING
planning :
1 Mrs Fox will discuss the matter of the service
with several of the clergy, with an eye to possible im-
provements, after the Christmas holidays.
2. Mrs Borngesser will be contacted to check of the
Junior Choir.
3 Possibilities for using a smaller auditorium,
whether or not to Rive it up as a project, having it
on a day other than Sunday, a more prominent speaker,
holding it earlier in. the day to stress family parti-
cipation and involving children in it, sressina the
aspect of brotherhood, and making it more of a pageant
or introducing some kind of pageantry into it, were all
discussed.
4 Publicity in the Boston papers was encouraged.
In summary, 4 alternatives can be listed:
1. Include some sort of pageantry, with children
dressed up appropriately, or possibly having a food
collection for underpriveleged families ;
2 Make it more a religious ceremony with a well
known religious speaker;
3. Make it a community assembly with a prominent
national figure as speaker;
4. Drop the whole thing.
