minutes book, and that it should be brought up to date
Mrs Williams is supposed to have it Mrs Baker is
to be asked to type the minutes.
Mr. Howard brought up the matter of our indebt- COMMITTEE
edness, mostly due to the expansion of the reviewing FINANCES
si.and to accommoaate the Arrican guests on April 19
The debt is $350. . It was felt (and this had been sug-
gested by the Selectmen) that the LeRoy S. Brown fund
be put to use to cover this, and the balance of the
fund be used in 1963 when we celebrate the 250th an-
niversary of the incorporation of Lexington. A motion
was made by Mrs. Litchfieldto have the Chairman ask
Mr Lincoln Cole for $400, which would cover our debt
and provide for U.N. Day and Thanksgiving expenses.
Mr. Cronin suggested that when we make up our
budget this year, we let the organizations concerned
know exactly how much money is available to them for
the entertainment of guests on April 19.

Mrs. Kipp, President of the League of Women Voters to
ask why the essay contest subject had not been published,
and who was to be our contact with the League Mrs
Kipp promised to give us answers as soon as she could.
Since many people are away at this time, she could not
tell us immediately. Mrs Fox will follow up on this.

was felt that there is need to stimulate adult interest,
perhaps have the merchants do window displays on the
subject

not receive his prize was discussed Mrs . Fox will
pursue this matter until it is cleared up, as it is
bad public relations for us
