be a ceremony on April 19 (after the arrival. of Paul
Revere) at which 77 men depicting the Minute Men of
1775 would line up in formation on the Lexington
Green Old trousers andbucksin coats might be worn
but uniforms would be more colorful and effective.
(Mr. Cronin commended the Guides for their sug-
gestion and felt that the idea should be considered
next year, and that details of such a ceremony might
be worked out in cooperation with the Lexington Minute
Men' s organization. )

the 1961 Patriots' Day Parade, announced that a meet-
ing of marshals and aides will be held on Sunday after-

with the manager of the Heritage Room Restaurant of
the Battle Green Motor Inn by Mrs Litchfield and Mrs.
Williams A lunch consisting of fruit cup, roast
beef, whipped potatoes, Italian green beans and brownie
a la mode (or parfait) is being considered The
restaurant manager will know by next week the cost of
such a lunch
2 Mrs Litchfield and. Mrs Williams reserved a Battle
Green Inn room near the restaurant for use by the ladies
attending the luncheon
3. It was the consensus of the meeting that souvenir
Minute Man silver pins would be given to each lady at-
tending the luncheon (Mrs. Litchfield will order
about 2 dozen )
Mr John Sloane (concerning tape recording) : Mr. Sloane
has a hobby of recording and requests permission to be
allowed to make tape recordings of both parades Copies
of the recording would be given to the Town Celebrations
Committee and to the Lexington Historical Society
Permission for use of an upper room of Buckman Tavern
for the recording equipment had been denied Mr Sloane
He, therefore, would like a position for his equipment
on or beside the reviewing stand because all bands
play at that point (Committee members expressed ap-
proval of Mr Sloane' s making a recording and would be
pleased to have a copy of the recording It was sug-
gested that Mr Sloane talk to Mr E Alden Eriksson,
who in 1958 tape recorded the "Sounds of April 19th".
It was also suggested that a better location for Mr
Sloane' s equipment mio'ht be near the Lexington Home for
the Aged Bands are requested to play in front of the
Home and the crowd, noise level would be much less at
that point )
