Co nail of Churches a :1 had sug- 1 gested th, t church youth groups be urged to participate in the Thanksgiving Service by coming as groups 340 Flowers : Mr Howard will order flowers for the podium which will be given to Mrs Sandberwer, Music Director, after the service, in appreciation of her contribution as oruanist and choir director A corsage will be ordered for the speaker's wife No boutonnieres will be given ushers this year Ushers Two ushers will be requested from St Brigid' s Church , 4 from the Council of Churhces, and 2 Jewish Publicity Mrs For will send Judge Northrup' s bio- graphy to the Leyinmtnn newspaper and t ill asl' him for a picture to be used in the paper Governor' s Proclamation for Thanksgiving Will be read by Mrs Morey, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen High School An announcement will be made over the High School P A System Janitor: George Doughty, Head Janitor, will be re- minded of the service APRIL 19 Floats Mr Bonriorno will request of Mr Robert Cus- tance, President of the Chamber of Co2merce, that a C of C Float representative should meet with the Celebrations Committee to discuss float categories (The April 12 film will be offered to the Chamber of Commerce and to any other tonin or anization which would be intere: tet i borrowing it ) Correspondence : Mrs Litchfield reported the following replies to invitations to participate in the 1461 Patriots ' Day celebration 1 First Naval District Band : "Will make every effort to attend Approximately one month ahead , will consi- der request " 2 Fort Devens' Band "Forty-five days ahead of event will consider request " 3 Norwich University "Capt Borowicz accepts for Norwich University " Letters of invitation will be sent to the Hi h School Bands Governor-elect Volpe and U S Rrepresentative Bradford Morse should rec- ive invitations BUDGET: The Chairman, Vice-chairman, and Corresponding Secretary of the Celebrations Committee will go before the Appropriations Committee to request $4000 for the budget for the 1961-'62 Town Celebrations Committee :341 The figure was decided upon from the followinu estimates of expenditure : 150. 00 Operatinm expense '350 CO Facilities 1100 00 Hosting" expenses 1100 00 Bands 1000 00 Tre ,sportation 100.00 U N Day 1C0 00 Thanksgiving Service ion 00 Miscellaneous F4000. 00 Total The meeting was adjourned at 10 :00 p.m GeorFic H.
