TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
April 14, 1960
The twenty-fifth meeting of the 1959-'60 Town
Celebrations Committee was hell in the Selectmen's
Room at 8 00 p m Present were Mrs Pullen, Mrs
Litchfield, Mrs Williams , and Messrs Cole, Cobb,
Cronin, Bnngiorno, and Howard Also present were
Mr Nick Iodise representing 4-H; Mr Mel Hunt re-
Presenting the American Legion; and Janice Cupp,
"Lady Lexington" , 1960 and her Aunt, Mrs Cole

1 Mr Cole announced that the Selectmen will
march
2 Mr Cole and Mr Cronin are authorized to
call off parades by telephoning radio station WBZ
(Leonard Zelick, ALgonquin 4-5670)
3 Mr Iodice reported that 4-F will march in
morning and have float in afternoon
4 Mr Cronin will arrange with the Fire Depart-
ment for hhe 3-3-3 signal to be blown at 6 00 a m if
morning parade is called off
( 5 Exercises on Lexington Green were discussed
E 6 Mr Cobb will fill out form for permission for
facilities of Adams and Munroe Schools to be used
Luncheon:
1 VOTED That the recipient of the Lions Club
white tricorne hat should be invited to the luncheon
2 The Bertram Gustins and the Bentley Hutchins
have accepted invitations
'3 Mr Howard will be stationed outside the
Battlegreen Inn before lunch to direct Quests to the
dining room
4 A room in the Battlegreen Inn has been re-
served for use by the ladies at the luncheon
5 The luncheon will be"_in at 12 00 noon
6 Table arrangements will be supervised by Mr
Howard
7 Lady Lexington and her escort will_ be invited
to the luncheon
A copy of the 1960 Celebrations booklet will
be criven to each guest
Afternoon Parade
1 Mr Douglass has arranged with the following
dealers for the use of automobiles : Dunn Ford (4) ,
Mawhinney Motors (2) , Colonial Motors (1) , Rowe-
Jackson (2) (It was decided that 6 cars will be
needed for dignitaries; 2 for transporting ladies
whose husbands are in the parade to the reviewing
stand, and 1 car for "Lady Lexington' s use in going
to her aunt 's home after lunch to dress for parade

2 The Red Cross station wagon has been requested
and a shuttle bus has been ordered
3 Distinmuished guests names will be announced
over speaker system as they arrive at reviewing! stand
Senator Padden has sent regrets that he cannot
be on the reviewing stand
5 Philip W Bohunicky, P Elmwood , Maynard , Mass ,
has sent letter asking permission to appear in parade
dressed as a. clown (Letter will be referred to
kol.ice Chief Rycroft )
6 Hayden Recreation Center will be asked by Mrs
Williams to be host to the following croups Rainbow
From Newton (contact Mrs Fillmore, 11 Carlton St ,
Newton, BIrslow 4-0406) Rainbow from Lexington DeMolay
Civil Air Patrol

Receptions
1 Mr Raymond Iewis will help with the afternoon
reception but will not come to the luncheon
Miscellaneous
I A telephone call has been received from someone
representing EPIC Permission was asked for the use of
the reviewing stand after the parade for an integrated
service (It was the sense of -bye meeting that because
of tie time ele ent , the reque t could not be investi-
mated adequately )
2 The sutrmeetion had been put forth that a
Brotherhood Committee should be formed , perhaps as a
subsidiary of the Celebrations Committee (In this
connection, it was surge ted that Mr Richard Wertheim
should be invited to a Committee meeting )
Future Su'P'estions :
1 Mrs Litchfield has learned that the British
Consul will be in Concord for April 1 ^ Next veer, an
invitation should be sent early inviting him to come
to Lexington
9 Radio Station WRZ must he notified of arrange-
ments Cor c,-llina off the parade in advance of such
arrenmevents hero announced in the newspaper
