{ TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
September 24, 1959
The second meeting of the 1959-'60 Town Cele-
brations Committee was held in the Conference Room of
the Town Office Building at 8 :00 p m Present were
Mrs Litchfield and Messrs Cole, Cobb, and Cronin.
Mr Cole, the new Chairman of the Celebration's
Committee, presided. Mr Cronin read the minutes of
the last meeting
VOTED To elect Mr Cronin as Vice Chairman of
the Committee.
1 A letter has been written to the Principal. U. N DAY
of the High School about the scheduling of a United
Nation' s Day Assembly at the High School.
2. Mr Cobb will inquire about the time of
United Nation' s Day programs at the High School and
Fiske School .
r 1 . The A Capella Choir of the High School, THANKS-
I under the direction of Mrs. Sandberger, will sing at GIVING
the Thanksgiving service . (Mrs. Litchfield will con-
firm by letter Mr Cobb's conversation with Mrs Sand-
berger)
2. Mrs. Litchfield will write a letter to Dr.
Abram. L Sachar, President of Brandeis University,
asking him to be Lexington' s Thanksgiving speaker
3. The following members of the clergy- will he
invited to attend the October 8th Committee meeting
Mr Myron Fisher of the Church of Latter Day Saints,
Father. Casey of St Brigids, Father Murphy of Sacred
Heart, Rabbi Bloom of Temple Isaiah, and Rabbi Rosen-
blum of the Jewish Community Center
Mr. Cobb had several suggestions concerning APRIL 19th
Patriot 's Day :
1 That guest ' s names be announced as they
leave cars to go to the reviewing stand
2 That a Town Crier Rive out information.

I R. That the Wayside Inn Lafayette coach might
possibly be used in the parade.

4. That a possible theme might be : Freedom -
Opportunity for Self Discipline r'
MISCEL- 1 Mr Cobb reported. that Paul Revere dish towels are •
LANEOUS made by Kay Dee Hand Prints, Hope Valley, R I , and
are distributed by Mr Sheldon Brown, Norwood, Mass.
In quantity they may be purchased for 60 cents each
2 Mrs Litchfield read a letter from Mr
Maloney requesting that the budget for 1960 be sub-
mitted by October 31st
