APRIL 19 1 Mrs Pullen and Mr Cobb produced a file
which catalogs information about April 19th celebrations
since 1776 The file is the result of Mrs. Pullen' s and
Mr. Cobb' s research this summer in libraries in Boston,
Concord, and Lexington. There was discussion as to the
possibility of publishing a booklet with some of the in-
formation about past April 19th celebrations in 1960.
One printer had estimated the cost at about 4600.00
for printing 7000 sixteen page booklets containing
about 8000 words .
Mr Gustin suggested that the Committee should
keep the file, and that representatives from the Com-
mittee should go before the Board of Selectmen with a
specific plan for a booklet. (An appointment with the
Selectmen will be requested for November 2d. )
2 The suggestion was made that a letter should
be written to the Postmaster General of the United
States recommending that 1975 be earmarked for the re-
issue of 3 stamps which commemorate the Battle of Lex-
ington which were issued in 1925. It was recommended
that the date be changed from 1925 to 1975.
3 Liaison with Concord, Mass should be
developed in connection with April 19th celebrations.
4 A sub-committee should work on April 19th
traffic problems. Two suggestions for alleviating
traffic congestion were a longer parade route (perhaps l_.
