HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-04-17-TCC-min.pdf 153 ` TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE April 17th, 1958 The 30th meeting of the Town Celebrations Com- mittee was held in the Selectmen' s Room of the Town Office building on April 17th, 1958 Present were Messrs Gustin, Rooney, Lewis, Poehler, Hutchins, Rooney, and Mesdames Pullen, Litchfield and Williams Mr. Gustin passed out Patriots Day programs and went through the Lexington schedule to check each item Mrs Litchfield will check with Mr Handley to be sure that he will ring the Belfry She will also call the Fire Station about the 1-7-7-5 alarm Mr Cole had given permission to Mr Hackenberger to have a sound truck to play stereophonic music It will be in the parade in the middle of the Boy Scout units The list of guests of the day were reviewed, and their placement in parade cars was discussed It was stated that there would be room on the reviewing stand for judges of floats Mr Gustin will stay at the review- ing stand Parade rosters and detour maps were given to each Committee member The Committee decided that other themes besides the theme of the celebration shall be eliminated This was in connection with a request for permission to use a theme about multiple sclerosis Dr Hunt plans to enter two antique cars It was voted tnat uftairman Dustin and Mrs Pullen represent the Committee at the Yankee Homecoming dinner in Boston, Friday, April 18th. Representatives of the Committee at the two balls should be at the Belfry Club at 9 30 and at the Rotary Ball at 10 lK Mrs Pullen asked permission to have two photo- graphic prints of Lady Lexington made One would be given to her, and the other would be given to the Prom- Manaders It was voted Mr Lewis suggested that Miss Mildred Ayers of the Red Cross be asked to provide transportation for 154 TVrs Clara Ballard and Mrs Ruth Crone for the morning parade The next meeting of the Committee will be May eighth George H Williams, Secretary
