TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
April 10, 1958
The 29th meeting of the Town Celebrations Com-
mittee was held in the Conference Room of Cary Memorial
Hall on April 10, 1958, at 8 00 p.m Present were
Messrs Gustin, Poehler, Lewis, Cole, Rooney, and Mes-
dames Pullen, Litchfield
Also present were Mr E Alden Eriksson, Mr. Peck-
ham of "United Farmers", Mr Little of "Executone, " and
Mrs LaPorte of the Girl Scouts
Mr Eriksson asked permission to record on tape
the sounds of April 19th. such as the church bells, the RECORDING
Belfry, the exercises on the Common, etc The Committee
voted to send a letter to Police Chief Rycroft asking
him to make arrangements for Mr Eriksson to park his
car with. recording equipment near the Common
Mr Peckham of "United Farmers" sought permission
to have a "United Farmers" truck precede the fire truck FLOAT
with "Big Brother" on it Mr Gustin outlined specifi-
cations for a Commercial float and felt that the truck
failed to qualify

Mr Little of "Executon.e" appeared before the
Committee in regard to the sound system for the day
Mrs LaPorte was present in connection with.
making arrangements for the Girl Scouts to be in the
early morning parade
Mr Streeter Stuart will be notified in case of
bad weather so that the announcement can be made over
the air
Mr Lewis specified that there can be no addi-
tional parade entries after April tenth.
Judy McNamara and Murray Ingraham have been named
contacts for the Student Council of the High School in
connection with the distribution of the Certificates of
Birth
Mr Gustin reported that "Universal Decorating"
will decorate the stands, etc .
Mrs Pullen reported that Mr Jack Frost of
"Yankee Homecoming" will have a definite program of
their activities by next Tuesday, April 15th

Certificates will he presented to Representatives
Martin and Rogers at 12 30 p.m , preceding the "Yankee
Homecoming" ceremony
There was some discussion about corsages Mrs
Litchfield will decide how many corsages should be
ordered
