TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
January 30, 1958
The twentieth meeting of the Town Celebrations
Committee was held in the conference room, Cary Mem-
orial Hall on January 30, 1958 Present Messrs
Gustin, Poehler, Lewis, Cole, and Mrs Pullen Also
present Mr John Adzigian, Patricia Cutter, Charles
Glenn, high school student council representatives
Mr Adzigian reported that the student council
voted to assume responsibility for hosting the out-of- HIGH SCHOOL
town high school bands after the April 19th parade
Mr. Poehler will apply for the use of the high school
cafeteria and kitchen from 2 to 6 that afternoon Mr
Adzigian also reported that the baseball game between
Concord and Lexingtonon the 19th will be played here
It will be suggested by this committee that the road
race start and finish at the ball park (probably 10 to
10 30 a.m. ) , after which the game will be played.
The representatives from the student council
were shown a printer' s proof of the proposed birth
Certificate, and after discussion with the committee,
they plan to present the idea of handling the promo-
tion and sale of this item to the Council, and will
report back In publicity they will have the help of
the committee and possibly of the Jack Frost organiza-
tion Mr Gustin plans to ask Mr Seldon Loring for
his suggestions for improving the format
Discussion of choosing "Lady Lexington" was
deferred until the Promenaders can be present. Mrs LADY
Pullen will as the Colby Kelleys, the William Maloneys LEXINGTON
and two representatives of the Promenaders to attend

Mr Rooney now has the list of all organizations
in Lexington. A joint meeting will be set up ( by whom?)
for February 27th
Representatives of Boy and Girl Scouts, 4H, CYO,
DeMolay and Rainbow will be invited by Mr Cole to the
meeting on Feb 13th to arrange the morning parade
Mr Poehler reported the U N plaques are in
position under the trees at both the Junior and the
Senior High Schools.
Mrs Pullen read letters she has received from

Lexington, Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri and from the r
state library in Maine, which reported Lexington, Maine
was disorganized in 1940
