TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
January 8, 1958
The seventeenth meeting of the Town Celebra-
tions Committee was held in the conference room, Cary
Memorial Hall on January 8, 1958 Present Messrs
Gustin, Rooney, Lewis, Cole, Mel Hunt and Mrs Pullen.
Mr Mel Hunt a reed to assume responsibility SPIRIT OF
for the "Spirit of '76", including getting the players , '76
finding uniforms which he presumes can be done within
the $75 budget
Mrs Cheever' s resignation was accepted with RESIGNATION
regret Mr Lewis will write her a letter of appre-
ciation and suggest that the selectmen do likewise . MRS CHEEVER
It was agreedshe should have a written invitation to
the reception on April 19th
Mr Gustin reported that the Masonic Hall will
be available for the luncheon on April 19th. for $35
but will not be available for the reception He will
look into other possibilities
Mrs . Pullen submitted an idea for a gimmick
for April 19th in the form of a birth certificate that
acknowledges Lexington as the birthplace of American
liberty and reaffirms the signatory' s belief in the
American way She also reported finding 22 Lexingtons
in the U S. and will write to each requesting histor-
ical information for the future "Lexington Room" at
the library
