TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
April 11, 1957
The eighteenthmeeting of the Town Celebrations
Committee was held in the conference room, Cary Mem-
orial Hall on April 11, 1957 at 8 00 p.m Those
present were Messrs Lewis, Gustin, Gagne, Poehler,
Albertine, Mrs Cheever and Mrs Litchfield
Mr Gustin reported that one or two of the
clergy of the town had spoken to him about marching CLERGY
Motion was made and seconded that the secretary send
an invitation to all clergy to participate in the parage,
marching with the staff Motion carried
Mr. Gustin also reported that the Chamber of Com-
merce had approached him relative to Hankee Homecoming YANKEE
Miss Judi Porter had been chosen queen of Yankee Home- HOMECOMING
coming, and the Chamber of Commerce wanted her to ride
in the parade as Queen of Yankee Homecoming Mrs
Cheever is to contact Mr Marshall of the Chamber of
Commerce
Mr Lewis has arranged for loudspeaker equipment
The ExecuPhone Systems, Inc to take care of this for LOUDSPEAKER
labor only, $6 75 per hr. , time and a half their hourly
rate
Mr Gus tin reported he had talked to Father
Murphy of the Sacred Heart Church by phone Father
Murphy has denied permission to his parishioners to march
in the parade due to April 19th falling on Good Friday
Mr Poehler was appointed to take charge of floats
in the pa-rade-. Ha—was_a1so_aske-d_to—se_e that
Monroe schools were opened for a short time in the morn-
ing Adams 6 30 - 7 .30 a.m Monroe 6 45 - 7 30 a m
Next meeting will. be April 25th
