TOWIvT CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE

Th.e sixteenth meeting of the Town Celebrations
Committee was h.eld at 8 p.m. March 27 , 1957 in the
Conference Room, Cary Memorial Hall. T}�ose present
were : Messrs. Gustin, Lewis, Rooney, Mrs . Cheever and
Mrs . Litchfield; also Ch.ief of Police Rycroft.
Plans were discussed with Mr. Rycroft for the
morning parade, and he will take care of obtaining APRIL 19th
from the park depart�nent any ropes needed to stake off
sides of streets. It was also felt a survey sh.ould be
made to ascertain what ropes and stakes will be needed
for next year, as it is expected 1958 will be a big
celebration due to expectee� p�i���,o�ty for a "Back to
D1ew England�' or "Yankee Homecai�ii�,•" campaign. .
Mr. . Lewis . stated that some of the clergy felt
th,e town of Lexin.gton should h.ave a Thanksgiving ser- THANKSGIVING
vice including all faiths. Motion was made and
seconded th.at th.is committeo ask the Soard of Selectmen
for the responsibility and authority to make plans for
� a proper community Thanksgiving servi'ce, in cooperation
� witY! all church.es . . The committee will ask for an
� ; appoinL�nent with the, board. Motion carried.
Motion wae also made and secon.ded that the com- BILLS OF
mittee continue to distribute the "Bills" until the RIGHT
supply is down to a thousand. Motion carried.
Mr. Gustin read the To•srn Celebrations Committee
report wh.3ch he will present at the adjourned town meet-

Letter from Mr. Page of the World Federalists was
read. No action was necessary.
It is hoped that the podium can be decorated, and
Mr. Gustin will look in.to this matter.
