Also present were Al Buse of the Rd of Selectmen and the director Bob Tarlin George Rowe and Harold Handley arrived later Minutes of the last meeting on Page 2, Dick asked that under the schedule of events that the a edutbeb '. ehould read that the change for the scheduling of the dedication of the Sanderson House by the Minutemen should be added in the line 4 - It is unclear in the minutes that Kevin was asking for the change in the Minutemen cere- mony bot in the re-dedication of the Green Also the minutes were in nor concerning the change of date for the Fiske Hill activities The change has been made from the 13th of April to the 12th - not to the 17th a- stated in the minutes With, these corrections the minutes were approved. Al Buse wanted to know what arrangements are being made for the invited guests for transportation on the 19th and for the hosts of such guests Howard SiDith is the contact for the other Lexington? Lincdesignated a committee to make sure that all such details are attended to , con- sisting of the following members Ray Barnes , Steve Foliti , Rely Greeley, Becky Nuesiorfer - plus Jim Broderick Arts and Culture- Miriam said that the new calendar is ready - she had copies with her She said that the architectural exhibit no1•' showing at the Libraray is a "smash" This exhib t will run through May Commercial and Perm Mem.- The Lexington Booklet is selling well The Scouts will be selling it door to door on the weekend. The talent show is slowly but surely coming together The dinner he been cancelled - interest was not too hi h for that anyway The concert for the evening has run into the problem of obtaining permission from the police The group is very anxious to have the event - there is a lot of enthusiasm and it will be the high light of the day . Rededication - The report to the Town Meeting was accepted with one amendment the addition of the phrase "and progress toward a united world There will be a meeting at 4pm tomorrow The fin- alized speeches should be ready at that time Neil Cronin is taking care of facilities and also a. commemorative gavel Sanderson House - They have decided to have the dedication at 3 15 pm on Sunday Sbecial Group - The stands for the elderly will be in front of Town Hall - same place as last year pvblro.fy' Citizen pride- There has been some pp=+ rsda for town beautification. It is hoped that individual citizen groups will continue to work for this The whole town should look as well kept and beautiful as possible TCC joined the meeting at thistime Bill Brenchick reported that the three float judges had been selected and they should be invited. to the parade The Norwich University b nd has reported that they are financially hard pressed to come here on the 19th and then be in Arlington on the 21st Bill would like to raise the authorization for Norwich to 4500 Line also suggested that Bill make use of the offer from the Stigmetine Fathers to use their retreat house for housing Also they should be reminded of the new gun law in effect in Mass Jim said that arm bands are reedy for the use of Parade officials and Bicentennial officials etc TCC would like to hire 2 private detectives to ,protect vehicles at Heritage Hall LBC approves It was suggested that it would be possible to have police instead if that was a better alternative ( -3- TCC also reaffirms the location ofthe reviewing stand They will double check with the police Kevin Doyle of the Lex . Min. M expressed hisconcern for the place- ment of the Lex MM in the parade He would like reeons]deretion of the placement of the unit in the parade He feels that they should be no. 1 or 2 unit in the parade - and teat right now it seems they are no 8 Jim says that they are actually no o Only the Lex High School Band is in front of them - the others are parade staff The Minutemen ere in an honored poisition However the Minutemen feel strongly that they should lead off the parade Jim, as Chief Marshall is in charge and he will take these opinions under advisement Fly-over - Bob asked for the reaction to a. prop©sed fy-over by the Westover Air Force group. LBC approves the fly-over if it occurs before the parade reached the reviewing stand - between 2445 and 3p m Food Service - Dick asked what provisions could be made to replenish food which may run out at the food stands during the day? Line said. that each booth should make its own arrangements for re-supply.
