Leo also submitted the bill for the printing of the certificates and 1500 passes and 50 official cards The contract for the caterers needs the Cof C signature - Dick will take care ef that Ray Barnes - said that the public buildings will be decorated at least one week before the 19th. The TCC has invited the LBC members to march in the morning parade which starts at 7 30 a m from Adams School. Schedule of events - Kevin said that the re-enactment had been changed to 6 •a.m - 7 30 parade, PO ceremony 10 a.m , Paul Revere at 12 45 and the Parade at 2 p m He wondered if the re-dedication ceremony could be held et 10 30 on Sunday - LBC reminded him that it had been scheduled for noon so a.s not to interfere with church services Kevin also asked if the Minute Ken could march up the avenue to the ceremony TBC has no objection to this Fiske Hill ceremonies have been changed from the 12th of April to the 17th Leo said that aftCer the re-enactment there was n small group which should be hosted for a short time and Rev Petterson of the Church of Our Redeemer had offered to do tai &. LBC felt that the money should be given to the group but were concerned to whom to make out the check The group calls themselves the Battle Green players The Motion was made and seconded to give this group $900 but for administrative purposes only the check would be sent directly to Music Theater International for the rights to the musical play "1776" The Players will he urged to structure themselves as soon as possible . Tickets - The distribution of tickets for the Masterworks Chorale and the Military Band Concert may become a problem in that many more appli- cations are being received than there are available tickets. Bob has asked the Masterworks Chorale to reserve 50 for the LBC distribution and has suggested the Masterworks group reserve 100 more, for requests from non-Masterworks subscribers The Military Band has already drawn 700 requests which will probably double before the April 4th cut-off date. Bob made the point that there will be pressure for these tickets and if the LBC wanted a different form of distribution than the "draw- ing out of a cardboard box" they should speak up. Commercial and Perm. Mem - Dick said that the commemorative booklet had been delivered and will go on sale tomorrow for $2 00 They will be on sale at the Visitors Center, Historical Society, bookstores , etc. The two Bicentennial posters are ready for sale also at $1 .25 in the same locations . With regard to the Permanent Memorial Dick said they would not get certification from the Hist Dist. Comm. until they find the location of the school house and meeting house. This location will not be ascertained by April 19 However, Rely and Dick are not discouraged Invitations - Becky reported on the status of the replies from the in- vitations Acceptances 52 for the rededication, 47 for the Post Parade reception and 36 for the reviewing stand None of the 13 governors has accepted so far; 13 of the 28 towns have accepted; and 4 other Lexingtons are coming. The French and Canadian Consul Generals are Homing—to—the -parade--and- the—Eng-li-sb -Ambaesadcrr -has—accepted Beckt will check with Concord on the VIP' s coming to Lexington from there . Linc had heard from Georgia Ireland who suggested that the National Chairman of the American Revolutions Bicentennial be asked Public Relations - Local PR is very good Problems come up with re- quests from state and National agencies, Bob said . He feels that the number of media people should 1)e limited - perhaps 100 Rededication - Roly said that the type for the printed warrant will cost more than the 6150 authorized by LEG if they have the same type used in 1844 The motion was made and seconded to authorize up to 3100 for the other type . This motion carried. Religious Activities - Harold said he feels that most churches are reporting excellent exhibits or programs for the Bicentennial Town and Gratin activities - The Elks are going to have pancake break- fast at their Hall on Sunday April 20 Kiwanis Club will serve a breakfast from 7 to 11 at the Battle Green Inn on April 19( hacon and eggs ) -4- Town and Group activities ( cont) - Bob displayed two woven belts made by a New York resident which he is donating to the town. The Minute Men said they would like to have them for their display in .the Sanderson House These belts have woven lettering on them and are in attractive colors Bob also said that the US Bicentennial Band will be playing an original piece written for the Bicentennial called "Celebration" Youth Day - Steve reported that the GYBSQ concert is off. Also the MM regional School not possible for the youth dinner. They have de- cided now not to have one. They would still like to have the rock concert on Monday evening but cannot get permission from the police They wonder how to go about pursuing this - through the Selectmen or a meeting with the police or a combined meeting?
