It was voted that such a letter should be sent by Bob Reynolds to open inquiry with the library to obtain some specific answers to questions so that Bicentennial plans can proceed with a clear under- standing of any possibilities pertaining to the Library Warren will ask Bob to do this immediately Since Dick Michelson is president of the C of C he described the progress the Chamber has made in regard tothe commemorative coin The C of C feels they will have to have a coin made outside the country as the mints they have investigated here are not able to take on such a project The Chamber is still enthusiastic about doing the project and will have to give LBC further details as they develop The C of C will continue to proviae service through the information center They found the longer hours this past summer were very successful and hope to expand the hours again next summer Dick also gave the report from the Parade Advisory Committee The parade route will be changed for 1973 This will allow adjustment to the new route and an opportunity to get out any "bugs" before 1975 Starting and ending at Worthen road the route will go East on Mass Ave from Lincoln Street The reviewing stands will be in front of Cary Hall The parade will turn right at Marrett Road, proceed to Waltham Street and then back to Worthen Road Clearance has been obtained for all facets of the change With approval the plan will be passed on to the TCC for their next meeting Mr Erik Nelson who is the Bicentennial representative of the Lexington Elks gave a report on the plans of his organization for the Bicentennial They can provide food, lodging , and sanitary facilities They also can serve by setting up a centralized I H -2 information booth during the weekend of the celebration They can accomodate up to 200 with beds at their headquarters Other lodges from neighboring towns would help out The service they would provide would be for groups who write ahead seeking a place to stay LBC feels this service would be of tremendous help It is hoped that other organi- zations with the facilities will open their property to the visitors Tony said that the Kiwanis Club had already received inquiries about accomodations- possibly the use of school grounds The use of public property is of course up to the Planning Board LBC thanked Mr Nelson for his generous and excellent offer and will look forward to incorporating his plans into the overall plan for the celebration There being no further business the meeting wad adjourned at 9 P.M.
