Present also were Tony Mancini, Dick Michelson, Roland Greeley, Miriam Butts, and Becky Nussdorfer Pat Wheatley, (Mrs Frank) attended also as the new and very much appreciated secretarial aid to LBC Pat will not be just a secretary however - she will be helping with matters of protocal, invitations, and special writing assignments The final draft of the letter tq TCC has been received by Ray Barnes but has not yet been read and considered by the TCC This is expected to be done at their meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening There was some discussion of the report given to LBC at the last meeting by Bob Reynolds Mr Greeley felt that the minutes should read that "some members of LBC" felt that the boulder was not an appropriate PM. He feels that there is merit in the idea and would not like to entirely reject it at this time The minutes will be so corrected It was announced that the VFW had called to say they would be unable to be with LBC this evening None of the other invited guests had contacted the committee by meeting time Dick Michelson reported that the State had OK'd the new route for the April 19th parade Ray told of the TCC meeting held on September 21 with the Minutemen, Mrs Riff in of the Selectmen, King Howard, and Mr O'Connell concerning the re-enactment of the Battle It was agreed at that meeting that there would be a re-enactment at 5 30 A.M. on Patriots Day in 1973 Ray said that the 10th *egiment of Foot would be representing the British The subject of the horses was discussed Mr Greeley said he was not necessarily in favor of re-enactments but if it was the decision of the committee to have one it most certainly should be as authentic as possible Experience should help in control of spectators, there should be only a few horses involved in the enactment The 5 30 A.M. time seemed a good decision Mrs Butts emphasized the fact that LBC needs to make a decision concerning a theme for 1975 Her particular concerns of arts and culture are dependent upon the theme Mr Greeley agreed that this item should be uppermost in the concerns of LBC Whether there should be a contest for an appropriate theme or a decision among the members of the LBC or other ways of deciding this problem was questioned It was then decided that the meeting of November 29, 1972 be devoted to real progress on the selection of a theme Becky reported on the meeting of the Historical Record Committee selected by the Historical Society which was held in Cary Library on Friday, September 29 This committee included Larry Whipple, Bob Benoit, Bob Hilton, Dan Fenn, Charles Butts, Alan Adams, Ann Scigliano They are charged with the responsibility of keeping a record of the Bicentennial and in publish- ing significant and appropriate items in celebration of the Bicentennial Many worthwhile 2- suggestions were made at this meeting also some well thought out proposals which seem certain to materialize They are anxious not to overlap perogatives of LBC, or the Town of Lexington and will keep LBC informed of their actions The Minutemon newspaper and the Library are interested in publishing pertinent projects for the Bicentennial The next meeting of LBC will be held at 7 30 in the Legion Room on October 11 The agenda for that meeting will be Dick Michelson and the C of C plus any other interested service organization representatives No guests having showed up at 8 30 the meeting was adjourned at 8 40 Respectfully submitted, l'?)C 0 7LJcic ✓(2( 4tll'd Becky Nussdorfer, Secretary
