Claire Feingold Thoryn; Alan Wrigley; Dana Bickelman, Director of Human Services; Melissa Battite, Recreation Director; Peggy Enders, Friends of the Minuteman Bikeway. Mr. Lucente stated the meeting is being held remotely as posted with the agenda. He announced the sad news of the passing of Trustees of the Public Trust trustee David Williams. Mr. Lucente also noted that Mr. Alan Fields, Fund for Lexington Board member, has tendered his resignation from the Trustees of the Public Trust. In turn this trustee seat on the Fund for Lexington Board is currently vacant and is hoped to be filled soon with the Select Board appointment of a new trustee to the Fund for Lexington Board. 1) Money Available State Street Account as of February 29, 2024 Ending Principal balance: $296,946.75 Ending Income balance: $30,447.18 Total Balance as of 2/29/2024 $327,393.93 2023 Fund for Lexington Annual Appeal Donations Approximately $24,500 received to date, of which $5,000 was received via online donations 2) Human Services Report and Requests Ms. Bickelman reported the following activity for the Human Services funds dispersed for the period:  Fund for Lexington o $1808.13 out of the Heating Assistance Program for one family (Remaining balance - $1894.71)  Human Services Emergency Fund (non-COVID related) $2,805.38 for rent, moving expenses, and car payment assistance  Gift Cards -351 Market Basked Gift cards disbursed since November 2023 to March 31, 2024  Covid-19 Financial Assistance (Takeda and FFL Contributions)  Remaining Takeda Balance: $ 8,938.04  FFL Balance: $25,000 3) Recreation Department Report and Requests Ms. Battite, Recreation Director, provided and overview of the Recreation report for the tracking of the Recreation Scholarship Fund. The recreation scholarship fund is used to assist children from lower income families to be able to attend Town sponsored summer programs which they may not otherwise be able to afford. The Recreation Department respectfully requested $9,000 from the Fund for Lexington to support recreation scholarship awards through the 2024 season. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0 to approve $9,000 be dispersed from the Fund for Lexington to the recreation scholarship program to assist residents in need for recreation programming. 4) Other  Request for Seed Money for First Annual Bikeway Block Party Ms. Peggy Enders stated the first annual Bikeway Block Party is being planned to place along the entire 10 miles of the bike path and is being co-hosted in Lexington by the Friends of Lexington Bikeways and the Munroe Center for the Arts. The request to the Fund for Lexington is to see if they would provide “seed money” towards the cost of this first Bikeway Block Party event. General discussion ensued. The Board was in agreement that seed money for this event did fall under the Fund for Lexington community betterment initiative purpose. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0 to allocate $5,000 from the Fund for Lexington towards the first annual Bike Way Block party taking place in September 2024, pending approval from various town boards, committees, and departments.  Request for East Lexington Flower Barrels Beautification Project Mr. Jim Shaw submitted a request to the Fund for Lexington seeking $5,100 for the East Lexington Flower Barrel Beautification project. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0 to approve $5,100 to pay Wilson Farms for plantings of the East Lexington flower barrels for 2024 per request submitted by Jim Shaw. 5) Approval of January 22, 2024 Meeting Minutes On a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0, to approve the January 22, 2024 Meeting Minutes. 6) Proposed Meeting dates Mr. Lucente confirmed June 10, 2024 and September 9, 2024 as the upcoming meeting dates for Fund for Lexington Board.
