for financing and it is hoped to construct at about $220000 per
unit. All units would be rented under a rent-subsidy plane The
land, owned by Frank Smith, is under option to LIC. The pal
concerns a variance to allow a density twice that which is
presenting allowed.
Mr. Lund also proposed a study to determine the feasibility of
a Town program to provide second mortgages as a fringe benefit for
town employees. The Town would recoup its money when the house
was sold, and would call In the mortgage If the owner left Town
employ.
it was AGREED that development of scattered site housing 72-73
should be LOSR3s first commitment: the Board will be under RECOMMEN
some pressure to sell tax title lots to private individuals DATIONS
when the one-year moratorium on such sales expires in the
spring. The Commission ought to offer 16e assistance to
both LEA and LIC to move their projects forward as fast as
possible.
Members agreed with the ahairman that the Commission
should assume an investigative, informative„ educative role.

tensive stady of transportation, regionalization and financing
proposals to determine their impact on Lexington, and should
inform the public on these issues. It should attempt to arrive
at positions on legislative proposals and seek to influece
