On Thursday, January 21, 1965, the Selectmen met with
Associate Commissioner Warner of the State Department of
Public Works Attending the meeting with the Selectmen
were representatives of the Planning Board
The Selectmen requested from the Commissioner a report
on the progress of the extension of Route 3 The
Commissioner informed those present that the extension of
Route 3 was not being considered by the Department at this
time With the vast amount of work to be done on the Inter-
state system, Route 3 has a very low priority and as far as
the Commissioner was concerned, it was difficult to say
when Route 3 would be considered
The Commissioner also informed the Selectmen that the
last section of Route 2 in the vicinity of Watertown Street
was under design and it did not make any provisions for a
future connection for an interchange to connect Route 3
