The Hunting Safety Committee met at 8 00 P.M. Messrs. Brown, Hayes and Ripley
were present Also present were Richard Phelps, Frank Parsons and William Tack.
Chief Rycroft met with the committee and was brought up to date on the plans
and progress of the committee He expressed an opinion stating that we were
going in the right direction and also that his department will give its full
cooperation. He further stated that he will definitely revoke the permit
of any hunter foundlrespassing on property for which the property owner had
not first given permission to hunt
Three letters, as written by Mr Phelps, were approved One letter will be
distributed to the hunters by the Police Department as they issue permits,
another will be mailed to the property owners whose land has been approved
for hunting and the third letter will be sent to the owners of property who,
in the judgment of this committee, own property deemed unsafe for hunting
Mr Phelps agreed to draft a news release to the local paper for October 15, 1964
Another committee meeting was scheduled for 8 00 P.M. October 1, 1964
