HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-12-1964 August 12, 1964 The first meeting of the Hunting Committee was held in the Town Office building at 8 00 P.M. Vin Hayes, representing the Recreation Committee, Adin Ripley from the Conservation Committee and Otis Brown from the Selectmen were present. Mr Ripley informed the group that in 1962 there were 184 hunting permits isaxed as compared to 62 permits during the 1963 hunting season He further suggested that we ought to meet with the larger property owners who allow hunting on their land. Mr Brown agreed to talk to Chief Rycroft and obtain a list of property owners who have given permission for hunting during the past two years and also to obtain a list of complaints He further agreed to obtain a Town Map which would show the location of buildings in relation to the open spaces Mr Hayes suggested that no hunting be allowed in or adjacent to the Willards Woods since the area is often used by non-hunters during the fall season Mr Ripley stated that the Hunters Group would agree to help by posting certain areas It was felt that the Town should post hunting regulation signs at the various entrances to Town The Committee agreed to meet again on August 25, 1964 in the Selectments Office at 8 00 P M Otis Brown, Jr c c Vin Hayes 7 "y9 o-r-Ui- cLY c c Adin Ripley - S` a 1?c. 4.6 J yet c c Hazel Murray, Selectments Office
