Ms Verma called the meetfng to order at 7:08 and read the
order that allows public town meetfngs to be held via Zoom.
There were no minutes ready for approval from January or
February.
The main reason for the meetfng was to approve the final Artfcle
41 presentatfon for Town Meetfng and to determine who would
present it.
Ms Castleman suggested a few edits and pointed out a few
typos.
Then the motfon was made and seconded for Kunal Botla to
present Artfcle 41 to Town Meetfng on behalf of TAC. All 4
members present voted in the affirmatfve. The Artfcle is
scheduled for March 18, but behind many other artfcles so may
not really come up untfl Wed, 20th, or even thereafter.
Ms Verma suggested that TAC put off talking about protocols for
determining the membership and responsibilitfes of TAC untfl
after Town Meetfng.
Mr. Jain gave a COA report that they are meetfng with
Brookhaven, then with other senior groups, to inquire about
needs, to get feedback, and answer questfons. COA is also
applying to AARP for Age-Friendly designatfon.
Mr. Fairbairn reported, as LHS Liaison, that student representatfves have had
opportunitfes to speak with the architects of the new LHS building and that Mr.
Veeragandham was communicatfng about transportatfon and ways to make sure
students have desirable ways to get to school. Mr Fairbairn said that he would
email the architects to see if they might give a presentatfon to TAC. He also
reported that Ms Barrett is quite involved. [Neither Mr. Veeragandham. or Ms
Barrett was able to be present at tonight’s meetfng.]
Ms Verma said that at our next meetfng, April 9, we will be
discussing the Municipal Empowerment Act vis-a-vis Lexington
and that we should get ourselves up-to-date on this measure. It
would allow municipalitfes to add 5% to automobile excise tax,
and to be able to use those additfonal funds for transportatfon,
a way to broaden community ability to affect local actfons.
The meetfng was adjourned at 7:42.
April’s meetfng is scheduled for April 9.
Respectiully submitted,
Sally Castleman
