These were striped on the diagonal per Don & Bob Ossman's sugges- tion No response yet from Selectmen on how we go about implementing a test of any cross walk lights. We're still not sure of the need for these lights Looking into the day vs night accident rate in the center, Myla found that out of 12 pedestrian acci- dents last year, 3 were at night and 2 of those definitely were in a crosswalk. 9 Flood Lighting: Joe Marino needs some follow up and materials to pass on to electricians; do's & don'ts sheets perhaps illustrated After Town Meetingis over, need to contact Planning Board about adding Lighting to Zoning Table of Contents. 9 Peter reported on meeting with Janet Degraf of Concord lighting department. They are thinking of changing to Metal Halide in the Center and Sodium Vapor else- where. They need to get Selectmen to reverse a decade old decision to install only Mercury Vapor They have found what they think are appropriate Colonial (as opposed to Victorian) fixtures for the center which will also shield the bright light source The question was raised, "What's the purpose talking to Concord?" They have more flexibility to try out different light schemes than do we 9 Peter went to the Light Fair in NYC Several manufacturers had better CRI sodium vapor lamps. Their products and attitude this year reflect an awareness that color is an issue to consumers. 9 Don suggested trying out some 20,000 hour incandescent bulbs in the Center decorative fixtures. (NB 25 watters were installed the next day in one fixture Next time we will try 40 watters)
