a) Enforcement. Violations of current lighting regulations have yet to be addressed
or corrected How to implement?
NEW BUSINESS
1) Streetlights
A) Letter to Iwasaki and their response
B) Broaden test sites for the 50 watt Iwasaki as well as the Flourescent.
C) Approaches to Boston Ed. Speeding up process. Paul Chernick:
1) Address this as a conservation issue
2) Send letter asking for rates, copied to Conservation Law Foundation,
Settlement Board, Mass DPU
D) Expand rate request to include Metal Halide and specified color
corrected alternatives
E) Decide on specifications for worst case scenario
1) Wattage
2) Light distribution
a) Cut-offs and drop dishes
b) Light pattern on street.
3) Height of lamp on pole. (Will height be changed?)
2) FUTURE APPROACHES TO SAVING MONEY
A) Suggested to the committee. That developers pay for and install street lights
in new developments where wiring is underground
