• The Committee welcomed Col Roman Hund and Master Sargent Patricia Hickey
• Col. Hund provided service bio

communication flight commander

• Col Hund presentation — evolution and growth at Hanscom AFB (refer to Power

o Defined the role of Hanscom AFB within the Air Force Material Command

• Material Command — is in charge of weapons systems, mission
systems, systems acquisition and sustainment across all Air Force
platforms

o NBC weather tower
■ Mr Braun informed the meeting the town of Lincoln has sent a
letter of support for the project, and sees this as an opportunity to
help support the base with added revenue
o Shared Infrastructure at Hanscom
• Mr. Rosenberg noted the success of the AFB serving as a place of
collaboration is impacting traffic. He asked how can the base
address the traffic congestion concerns?
• Col Hund mentioned the Base has earned awards that offer van
pooling He sees that the base can certainly address this with the
neighboring towns The committee discussed possible solutions for
MBTA bus to loop through the base? Additional van pooling?
o 66 ABG Construction mgmt. staff
• Mr. Ng applauded the Base for the incredible growth and
investment that is ongoing How large is Col Hund's staff to
manage all these projects?
• Col Hund attributes the base's success to his staff's experience to
be able to coordinate all these projects.
o Col. Hund — clarified the fence line project that is between Hanscom field
and the base. Still being developed
• Mr Braun applauds the support that the Commonwealth has provide to the base
• Mr. Rosenberg noted that not many people realize the immense reach that the
base has in Massachusetts and the country.
• HATS Committee thanked the Col. Hund and Master Sgt. Hickey for visiting us
this evening

Minute Man National Park Superintendent— Nancy Nelson
• Superintendent Nelson informed us of her retirement from the National Park
Service in January 2017
o Deputy Superintendent B J Dunn will be taking over command
• Currently serving at the Independence National Park in
Philadelphia
Air Field — MassPort Community Advisory Committee; Hanscom Field Advisory
Commission
• December 4, 2016 P4 meeting
• HFAC: December 20th monthly meeting
o To discuss monthly noise report
o Ongoing status of projects — repaving drive / ramps
• Massport Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
o Hanscom Field Director, Amber Goodspeed reported Executive CAC
recently met in Brookline
• 30 item agenda w/ a group meeting scheduled in December 2016

• October 31st. Final Surfacing on Route 2
• Route 2A resurfacing project (ongoing?) — HATS to initiate more coverage
• Cambridge Turnpike Concord project— in design/engineering
• Route 2 project (Lincoln)
o Addressing failed landscape vegetation (dead trees) with Mass DOT
o Trying to coordinate an event/celebration?
