C.Updates/Discussion a.Teacherease grade portal is now open for all families and students.No issues have come up. i.From the parent perspective,there was a bit of confusion,but the resources were comprehensive. ii.Older assignments were listed from last trimester.Newer assignments will be added as the trimester progresses. iii.Students have not provided any feedback directly. iv.Ultimate goal is the communication between parents and student and open the lines of communication with teachers. v.Parents are encouraged to reach out to the principals if they have any questions or concerns. vi.We are including Teacherease in our School Innovation Plan. vii.The red statement “student not meeting”,has caused a lot of confusion/consternation for parents.Marlon can help communicate with parents. 1.We need to help students and parents understand that this is just a message about more learning needs to happen.It is not a real problem. viii.Teachers need more time to make sure they are all using the system with fidelity. ix.More education for parents,like a “call in”session will be explored. b.Renaissance Screener has been brought in for math and literacy screening. We will have our second test after break. i.A data team across Clarke and Diamond will be created.The goal is to make the transition between middle school and high school. c.SEL programming is being explored. i.Second Step ii.Wayfinder resources iii.Both have “ready to go”lessons that can be integrated into classes.We are trying to make plans so that it is not an additional ask for teachers. Counselors may work with “early adopter”teachers. iv.Some WIN block lessons may be helpful. v.Question:Have we done a “needs assessment”on SEL.Both from what teachers are already doing and what the parents are looking for. 1.The PTO has brought up a lot of concerns with executive function. 2.Val and Stacy are coordinating 3.We should do a student survey to see what students are thinking and feeling about classes.If our goal is more self-advocacy,then we need to hear from students.In addition,a parent survey will be in the works.Along,with an inventory about what is being used. d.Learning Process Standards will be explored further. i.What are the skills that impact a student’s progress.Homework,turning assignments in on time,etc. 1.A working group between both schools will take survey results to build out skills lessons needed,what standards will be used, rubrics to be used. a.We will need to teach these skills.Organization and time-management skills should be taught. e.MTSS District Audit last year. i.Exploring next steps once all of the data has been analyzed.Staff will get access to the data. 1.Tier 1 instruction,specifically using DCAP strategies and how we move students to additional help. 2.Using screening data to determine additional supports. 3.How do we make sure learning is accessible to all? 4.SST process is being examined. ii.In our Innovation Plan for next steps. f.School Innovation Plan i.Mid-March we will have a draft for review.Goal to be ready before April break. ii.Clarke and Diamond will coordinate the plans together.
