PD planning • Select Board approved TCC’s PD plan. We have notified the town manager and the DPW about our plan. • Glen offered a tribute to David Williams, recently deceased, who has volunteered for the town for over 50 years. • Lorain Marquis: The parade sponsors committed $7000, which is not bad at this stage. • Sudha will manage the signage. • There are 30 VIP tickets (reviewing stand) and more Bleacher tickets. If people are looking for VIP tickets, please get their names to avoid duplicates. • Bonnie and Sue Stering work effectively on the morning parade. o Kicking off at 7:30 am, arriving at Battle Green by 8 am. The ceremony will start at 8 am. • Linda Dixon: The morning ceremony has two LHS student MCs, Sarah Kochi and Sarah Chen. • Sondra negotiated and brought the prices down for many parade units. • David Grabel: we have 75 – 80 parade units. • The motion to approve the parade units David presented (listed below) was approved unanimously. o Uncle Sam's Patriotic Jazz Band o Trend N Motion - Hip Hop Dancers o Hot Tamales Brass Band o Peter Panic, Juggler on Unicycle o Uncle Sam on Stilts o Veronica Robles Mexican Mariachi o Lexington Police Honor Guard o Lexington Historical Society o Munroe Center for the Arts o CALex o Hanscom Air Force Base o AYLUS LEXINGTON BRANCH o Michelson's Shoes o Lexington Firefighters Honor Guard o Lexington Chapter DAR o Lexington Lions Club o Ekam Boston • David Grabel: How does the Grand Marshal want his name used on the sign? Linda will ask Jeff Leonard about his preference. • David Grabel asked about the bus drop location. Maple-Mass Ave intersection is proposed. • For people to drive their vehicles: we will give them several options after getting advice from the Police. • The acceptance letters haven’t been sent out yet. • Sue will call Classic Cars and Lex Farm to confirm if they will participate in the parade. • Parade ambassador group: The application is online; tee shirts can be ordered from the same vendor. Lex 250 updates: no updates Memorial Day Preparations • NFPP is OK with the scale, as they did last year. They are working to get LHS students to write poems. • Linda: A small piece of land next to the Battle Green was created during the rotary project. Some poppies could be planted there. • Sue talked to the LHS art department. Students are busy, but younger students might be able to do something. The LHS English department can arrange a meeting between NFPP and LHS students to determine what they can do. The meeting adjourned at 8:34 pm.
