HomeMy WebLinkAboutRegular Town Manager Search Committee charge, October 20, 2004 REGULAR TOWN MANAGER SEARCH COMMITTEE Members: 12-15 Appointed By: Board of Selectmen Length of Term: Until position filled Appointments Made: Meeting Times: Description: The Board of Selectmen is responsible for hiring the Town Manager. This committee will identify and interview candidates using a variety of inethods, including networlcing and outreach, following the process approved by the BOS to assure the best qualified applicants are advanced. The committee shall screen applications and select those to be interviewed. Any Board member may request that the committee interview any applicant. The Committee wi11 submit finalists to the Board of Selectmen. Criteria for Membership: The committee should be representative of the diversity within the town. Members may cover more than one category. They should include the following representation: two current Selectmen, School Committee, Personnel Advisory Board, current or farmer manager from a surrounding town, former Selectmen, union/staff representation, school administration, local business, Town Meeting Member, citizen with professional management experience.
