Minutes:
Bridge staff presented a powerpoint presentation regarding the mCLASS assessment and the
information that will be shared with families at the upcoming parent teacher conference.The literacy
specialists talked about the various components assessed at each grade level,walked
parents/guardians through the assessment document that is shared with families that details areas of
strength and challenges for students,and shared the Home Connect website that allows families the
opportunity to choose activities that they can do with their children at home pertaining to their skill
level.
Parents asked questions about the assessment,when they would receive their child’s assessment
information,and complimented the staff on sharing this information as it helped them to understand
what was assessed and how to support their children at home.
The ELL teacher encouraged parents to continue to also read to and work with students in their first
language regarding literacy skills as having a solid foundation in one language helps with acquisition
of the second.
