HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-01-26-VISION2025-minTown of Lexington Vision for Lexington Committee Meeting January 26, 2024 Remote Meeting 7:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Minutes Members Present: Sara del Nido Budish, Margaret Coppe, Marian Cohen, Andrew Dixon, John Giudice, Jill Hai, Dan Joyner, Bhumip Khasnabish, Kathleen Lenihan, Carol Marine, Shannon Murtaugh, Bob Peters, Ambilu Sivabalan, Weidong Wang Absent: Min Zou Guests: Mark Manasas, Jyotsna Kakullavarapu, Sabine Clark The meeting was called to order: 7:49 am The Remote Meeting Script was read by Margaret Coppe Roll Call Vote Minutes: • The approval of minutes from October 27, 2023 and December 15, 2023 was moved by John Giudice and seconded by Bob Peters. PIO Josh Miller has sent list of non- government organizations to Dan. He requested any lists that others may have and he will make a master list. He reported that there is a new line item budget for the DEI officer in the 2005 budget. Asian Participation on Town Committees Weidong Want has been working with Dan Krupka on this yearly report. This is his last meeting with VFL, so needs a volunteer to continue the work. Sara del Nido Budish, Dan Joyner, and Shannon Murtaugh volunteered to work on the report. Weidong will send information to Dan. Resignation of Weidong Wang The committee accepted the resignation of member Weidong Wong with gratitude for his contributions. Lexington Lyceum Campaign Update Mark Manasas reported on the Lexington Lyceum Campaign and the Ellen Stone Building in East Lexington. He recommended reading Abraham Lincoln’s 1838 Lyceum lecture. Update on Subcommittee on Voter Participation in Lexington Marian Cohen reported that the committee is now writing its report. Update on Subcommittee for Sharing Survey Information John Giudice reported that the subcommittee at its most recent meeting decided that they had gone as far as they could with their report. He shared their process and the conclusion they recommended dissolving the subcommittee. John Giudice moved and Dan Joyner seconded dissolving the Subcommittee for Sharing Survey Information. Reported on the following 2023 activities: senior parking pass (2,000), Lexpress pass ($20), food insecurity, branding. Co-sponsoring February 3, 2024 Candidates Night at the Community Center.
