EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES
August 9, 2016
Attendees: Kate Ekrem, Joe Pato and Jessie Steigerwald Trustees; Koren Stembridge, Library Director
Call to Order: Joe Pato called the meeting to order at 9:00 am*
*The Cary Memorial Library Board of Trustees is generally on hiatus from June – September of each year. Summer meetings are called as needed. This was a special meeting called when the
CML’s full appointee to the Historic Districts Commission (Ms. Britta McCarthy) resigned, necessitating the Board’s recommendation of 2 potential candidates to fill the vacancy.
New Business
Historic District Appointment
Joe Pato explained that due to the resignation of Britta McCarthy the board needs to appoint a second member to the Historic District Commission. Our current appointee Robin Lovett
is serving as our associate member representative. We need to submit two names. The second nominee is Donna Hooper. Trustees discussed nominating Robin from associate member to a full
member and Donna as associate member filling out the remaining four year term. Joe expressed great appreciation for the willingness to serve.
After a discussion, Joe moved to nominate Robin Lovett as a full member and Donna Hooper as associate member representative to the Historic District Commission representing the library.
Jesse seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Adjournment
Jessie made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Kate. The motion passed unanimously.
